Seventeen Forever

Last Friday was my 17th birthday. I feel so old now......
Anyways, I spent it with my BFF Taryn, and we had dinner at my favorite Japanese restaurant with my family.
After, we had a spontaneous photoshoot behind the center.....If you're ever in Tustin, CA, DEFINITELY check out Tokyo Lobby.
I've been going there my whole life, it's amazing.

I finally got to wear my new Modcloth dress! It's actually really comfortable, not itchy at all.

My Mom let me borrow one of her pairs of amazing Jimmy Choo shoes.

So, the reason it's taken me so long to get this post up is because of these pictures.....I've been having a lot of trouble trying to resize them. I put them all on the same setting, and some of the pictures are way bigger than the others!
Annoying.

Oh well, any suggestions? I use photobucket, and I haven't had a problem until now.

Kaya Scodelario for ASOS Magazine

I've fallen behind in my blogging.....whoops!
These past two weeks have been BUSY! All my time has been consumed by skating, therapy, ballet, and homework homework homework!
I'm quickly making progress in finishing school....I can't wait for my summer to start!
~~

I love watching Skins. Effy is totally one of my favorite character.
I found this editorial on Kaya randomly one day...I LOVE it!
She looks completely gorgeous, and the clothes are to die for! I actually like ASOS clothing a lot...I'm going to have to buy some one day.

So, the last post I did I mentioned that I was going to a concert.....
IT WAS AMAZING!
I went with my bff Taryn and Shannon, and we saw the Too Fast for Love tour at the Grove of Anaheim.
Cobra Starship and 3OH!3 were the co-headliners.....we also saw Travie McCoy and I Fight Dragons.
I haven't seen Cobra Starship in about 3 years, so it was definitely awesome to see them again(:

Summer Lovin'

Quickie post today! I'm going to a concert with my besties later tonight(:
I'm super pumped for summer this year, which is weird because usually I dread summer.
I don't exactly like the heat.
BUUUTTT this summer, I have several concerts lined up, and tons of time to spend with my BFF Taryn.
The only thing in my way is my homework...grrrr. I'll finish it soon though, I want to go to Warped Tour for my bday!
Anyways, I got together some excellent pictures to get inspired for summer break.
~~~
I ordered some new goodies too!
I'm completely in love with my new topshop shirts, and I can't wait to wear my new dress from Modcloth. (:
Renaissance
Tank Top: BCBG Max Azria
Plaid Shirt: Mom's old riding shirt
Lace Cami: Vintage
Shorts: A&F cutoffs from Taryn(:
~
Last Sunday I went with my BFF Taryn and her family to the Renaissance Faire in Irwindale.
It was SO much fun! I LOVE being with her family.
I have to say though, the people watching was the best part. Some got really into it- they dressed up in complete "Tudors" regalia.
Although, some people were dressed in outfits that I was confused by...were they going for Barbarian? Because I'm pretty sure that wasn't a big part of the Renaissance....
Anyways, hopefully this summer will be filled with more outings like this with my lovely Taryn.
oh, and I finally found a product to keep my curls under control! I've been using Garnier Fructis Wonder Waves spray...it's amazing! I love it.
Girl, interrupted// Inspiration Compilation 2
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was starting a string of "inspiration" posts- photos, people, bloggers, photographers, etc.
The first entry in the...."inspiration compilation" was about my mom- see Delirium
I've decided to continue the theme of "influential women" with Angelina Jolie.
-------
Possibly my favorite picture of Angelina, from Vanity Fair 2008.
I love love LOVE these two pictures of her- I think because she looks so much like my mom.
(collage by me, images via google)
Angelina Jolie is an incredibly beautiful, strong, independent, and confident woman.
She's comfortable with her body and proud of who she is as a person.
She inspires me everyday to want to be curvy instead of stick-skinny like the models I see everywhere, to give back to the world, and to be confident in who I am.
(And HELLO, she's got Brad Pitt drooling after her)
I love how she can be edgy and punk one minute, then flip a switch and become old-Hollywood glam.
But, I think what I love most about her is that her life has been a journey- she's made her share of mistakes, but she discovered herself through her triumphs, and through her errors.
She proved that who you are at 16 is not necessarily who you are going to be at 45. Everything that happens in your life- the good, the bad, the hurt, the happiness- is a process that makes you who you are, and nobody can take that away from you.
